NCT (Nexus Chart Trader) is an advanced execution interface and risk management add-on for NinjaTrader 8. While native Chart Trader provides basic DOM buttons on a detached side panel, Nexus Chart Trader places a high-speed execution overlay directly onto your candlestick chart. It introduces custom on-chart buy/sell buttons, visual draggable bracket lines (Quantower/TradingView style), dollar-risk auto lot sizing, automated multi-tier trailing stops, and durable prop firm risk locks.

Yes. NinjaTrader 8 does not include configurable on-chart trading buttons out of the box. Nexus Chart Trader adds customizable on-chart action buttons including Buy Market, Sell Market, Buy Ask, Sell Bid, Buy Dip, Sell Rally, Bar-Close Entries, Reverse, and Flatten. Native ATM strategies require configuring tick offsets inside rigid dropdown menus before every trade. Nexus Chart Trader replaces ATM strategies with interactive visual brackets: pending orders, Stop-Loss, and Take-Profit lines appear directly on your chart as draggable overlays. You can visually stretch your risk/reward targets, view live dollar P&L on each line, enable auto-breakeven (+offset ticks), and split exits across multiple profit targets with a single click.

Instead of manually calculating contract size based on tick distance and stop-loss width, NCT features dynamic position sizing. You set your desired maximum cash risk (e.g., $250) or risk percentage (e.g., 1%). When you position your visual stop-loss line on the chart, NCT automatically calculates and updates your exact position size (micro or mini contracts) before entry.

Click the link icon (🔗) on any active Stop-Loss or Take-Profit line, then click any indicator plot visible on your NinjaTrader 8 chart (such as an EMA, VWAP band, SuperTrend line, or Prior Day High/Low). NCT will dynamically anchor and trail your exit order to follow the indicator's real-time calculation on every tick or bar close.

Nexus Chart Trader includes a hardware-resilient Risk Lock system designed specifically for prop firm evaluation and funded accounts (Apex, Topstep, MyFundedFutures, etc.). You can enforce daily loss limits, daily profit targets, maximum trailing drawdown caps, consecutive loss blocks, and post-trade cooldown timers. Daily risk locks in Nexus Chart Trader are durable and tamper-proof. Unlike standard client-side scripts that reset if the software restarts, NCT's state tracking persists across platform crashes, sudden internet disconnects, and manual application restarts. If an account hits its daily loss limit, it remains strictly locked until the daily trading session rollover.

Yes. Nexus Chart Trader is fully optimized for all major futures prop firms and supports Rithmic, Tradovate, and CQG data connections within NinjaTrader 8. NCT includes connection throttling and rate-limit safeguards to prevent disconnects and order rejections during rapid bracket adjustments in fast-moving market conditions.

You can configure Auto-Breakeven to move your Stop-Loss to entry price (plus a user-defined tick cushion to cover commissions) automatically when the trade reaches a specified profit milestone. Additionally, NCT supports multi-stage trailing stops that tighten risk dynamically as price crosses multiple reward milestones.
