Nexus Chart Trader

Your comprehensive guide to installing Nexus Chart Trader for NinjaTrader 8.

Important Note: Nexus Chart Trader is provided as a NinjaScript Add-On (a .zip file) for direct import into NinjaTrader 8. This guide will walk you through the process.

Important for Windows 11 Users (Smart App Control):
In some newer versions of Windows 11, a feature called "Smart App Control" might prevent the installation or proper functioning of new software. If you encounter any issues during or after installation, you may need to temporarily disable this feature. You can turn it back on right after.

Open Windows Security by searching for "Windows Security" in the Start Menu.
In the left-hand navigation, select App & browser control.
Under "Smart App Control", click on Smart App Control settings.
Select Off to disable Smart App Control.
Proceed with the installation steps below.
Once Nexus Chart Trader is installed and confirmed working, you can go back and turn Smart App Control back On.

Step 1: Download the NinjaScript Add-On

Download the .zip file

If you haven't already, please download the Nexus Chart Trader NinjaScript Add-On (a .zip file) from the link provided in your purchase confirmation email. Save this .zip file to a location you can easily find, like your Desktop or Downloads folder. Do not extract the contents of the .zip file.

Step 2: Importing into NinjaTrader 8

Now that you have the Nexus Chart Trader .zip file, follow these steps to import it into your NinjaTrader 8 platform:

Open NinjaTrader 8: Launch your NinjaTrader 8 Control Center.
Navigate to Import: In the Control Center, go to the top menu bar and click on Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On...
Select the .zip file: A file explorer window will open. Navigate to the location where you saved the Nexus Chart Trader .zip file (e.g., your Downloads folder), select it, and click Open.
Confirm Import: The "Import NinjaScript Add-On" window will appear, showing the details of the add-on. Review the information and click OK or Import to proceed.
Success Confirmation: Once the import is complete, a success message will be displayed by NinjaTrader. Click OK.
Restart NinjaTrader 8: This is a crucial step to ensure Nexus Chart Trader is loaded correctly. Close and then re-open your NinjaTrader 8 platform.

Step 3: Adding the Indicator to Your Chart

After restarting NinjaTrader 8, you can now add Nexus Chart Trader to any chart like a standard indicator. From a chart window, right-click, select "Indicators", find "Nexus Chart Trader" in the list, and add it.
